The story of Glitterbomb
More than an event. A movement of the most glorious, glittery humans.
A room where everyone is welcome is good for everyone in it. Allyship happens on a dance floor. Community gets built one Tuesday at a time. That's what Glitterbomb is for: a great night and a safe one, where nobody has to check who they are at the door.

About Glitterbomb
Made by people who love the night out
Glitterbomb started on campus. Touring with Drag Race queens to UEA, Surrey, Royal Holloway and Kent taught us what a great night actually needs: a host who runs the room, queens who bring the house down, a DJ who reads the floor and a crowd that feels welcome the second they walk in.
Then came the official Pride Canterbury afterparties and Glitterbomb became the party that goes wherever it's invited. Now we're touring towns and cities across the UK, one loud, kind, glorious room at a time.
You do not have to be LGBTQIA+ to come. You just have to be up for it. Bring your friends, your mum, your hen do and your dancing shoes. Leave the attitude at home.
EVERYONE'S WELCOME. EVERYONE'S LOOKED AFTER.
The story of Glitterbomb
More than an event. A movement of the most glorious, glittery humans.
Glitterbomb started because too many nights out weren't safe or welcoming for LGBTQIA+ people, and the answer was to build one that was. What became clear very quickly was bigger than a party. A room where everyone is welcome is good for everyone in it. Allyship happens on a dance floor. Community gets built one Tuesday at a time.
It began on campus, touring with Drag Race queens to UEA, Surrey, Royal Holloway and Kent. Then came the official Pride Canterbury afterparties, and Glitterbomb became the party that goes wherever it's invited. Now we're touring towns and cities across the UK with 25 years of events and entertainment behind us and one rule in front: everyone gets to enjoy it.
That means tackling hate and violence wherever it shows up in the night-time economy, and standing with the work to end violence against women and girls. It's why we back Ask for Angela at every night, why we built The Glitter Standard, and why every venue we play is invited to prove it's a safe room rather than just say so.
Glitterbomb is a business, and we're proud of that. We make our money selling great nights, and that's what pays queens, DJs and crew properly, keeps welfare on the door, and lets us put our weight behind the campaigns and the Standard. A movement with a bar tab, if you like.
Campaigns we stand with
We don't need to invent the movement. We need to turn it up.
The big campaigns already exist and they're brilliant. Glitterbomb amplifies them at every night, on every stage and on every screen we own. Here's who we're on the same side as.
Same Side
Using sport and real stories to give boys and young men a better idea of what being a man can be, and to counter the manosphere's grip. We're on the same side. #SameSide
campaign.unwomenuk.org →Rainbow Laces
Stonewall's campaign for LGBTQ+ inclusion in sport. Rainbow Laces Day is 8 October and we'll be wearing ours on stage, behind the decks and on the door.
stonewall.org.uk →Ask for Angela
Ask any member of staff for Angela and they'll get you out of a bad situation discreetly. Live at every Glitterbomb night and part of our welfare briefing before doors.
askforangela.co.uk →Safe Spaces Now
UN Women UK's work to make public spaces safe for women and girls, including bystander training that gives people the confidence to step in. Our crew take it.
unwomenuk.org →We support these campaigns and link to them because we believe in them. None of them has endorsed Glitterbomb and we don't claim they have.
Dates that matter
The year, for the communities we stand with
Prides, awareness days and the moments that matter to LGBTQIA+, disabled and neurodivergent people and to the work to end violence against women and girls. We build the calendar around them.
The community we stand with
Building a community of people who want fun, safe and inclusive spaces for everyone
Glitterbomb supports these organisations. They do the hard work every day; we point our crowd at them and turn the volume up.

We support these organisations because we believe in what they do. Listing them here is our choice, not their endorsement.
What we stand for
Three things we will not bend on
The show is the point
Real queens, real vocals, a host who runs the room. We pay performers properly and on time, and we publish our performer standards.
The safest room in the city
A trained welfare presence at every event, a visible team and a zero-tolerance line on harassment. Ask any of us for help, any time.
Everyone in the room
LGBTQIA+ first, everyone welcome. Access requests never need proof. Nobody is made to feel like the problem.
The party proves the badge. The badge protects the party.
Our sister brand, The Glitter Standard, accredits venues that are genuinely safe and welcoming: staff trained, tested once a year without warning, badge removed if it slips. Glitterbomb is Glitter Standard approved, and venues that host us are invited in on pilot terms.

Presale links before they go public. Lineups before they're announced. New cities before anyone else hears. And on your birthday, a treat from us.
We only ask for what we use: your nearest town so we send you nights you can get to, and your date of birth so we can spoil you and understand who comes. We never sell or share your details.

The maths, done honestly

Make it bigger
of LGB+ people say they would visit pubs and bars more, and 30% would visit nightclubs more, if they felt safer. That is an audience with unmet demand. A Glitterbomb night is the easiest way to invite them into your room without changing anything about the rest of your week.

Queens, DJs, photographers, promo crew
Glitterbomb is touring and every city needs its own people. Tell us who you are and where you're based and we'll match you to the nearest nights. Everyone gets paid properly and on time and we publish our performer standards. You need to be 18 or over with the right to work in the UK.
Drag performers
Hosts, lip sync, live vocals, games. Drag Race alumni and local royalty both welcome.
DJs
Pop, camp classics, dance and anthems. You read the floor, not a playlist.
Photographers and videographers
Low light, fast rooms, confetti. Recap videos and stills for socials.
Promo and welfare crew
Street teams, campus reps, door and welfare. Training given.
Accessibility
Everyone in the room includes everyone on this site
We want glitterbomb.org to work for disabled and neurodivergent people as well as it works for anyone else. This is what we've done and what we're still doing.
Built in
- Calm mode (top of every page) turns off moving glitter and the scrolling banner, removes tilts and shadows, softens colours and dims photos. Your choice is remembered.
- If your device asks for reduced motion, we respect it automatically.
- Text sizes scale with your browser settings. Nothing is locked to a fixed size.
- Keyboard works everywhere: a skip link, visible focus rings, and every button and form reachable by tab.
- Photos and logos carry alt text. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Forms have labelled fields and clear error messages. Nothing depends on colour alone.
Still to do
- A full WCAG 2.2 AA audit by an independent accessibility specialist.
- Venue-by-venue access details (step-free entry, accessible toilets, quiet space, ear defenders) on every event card once dates are confirmed.
- Easy-read and BSL versions of "know before you go".
Tell us
If anything on this site or at a Glitterbomb night gets in your way, email hey@glitterbomb.org. You never need to prove anything to ask, and we'll fix what we can and tell you honestly about what we can't.
